Easy to Grow, Tall Bush Packed with Berries
Climax Blueberry is one of the oldest, most proven varieties of rabbit eye blueberries available. It grows best in hot and humid climates and will exceed the height of its highbush relatives to the north.
The Climax is a fast grower and can reach 15 feet tall if left unpruned. This long-living bush will provide huge clusters of medium sized berries that ripen in early May every year.
Delicious Superfood
Known for their very high levels of antioxidants, blueberries are truly a ‘super food’. Their healing powers are well known and documented; but of all the superfoods, few can compete with their effect on the taste buds.
So tasty, these berries are an excellent alternative to candies and store-bought snacks that children (and adults!) often find tempting. They’re delicious right off the bush, and are equally delectable in muffins, smoothies, cakes, bread, pies, pancakes, cereal and oatmeal.
A Spicy Sweet Berry Full of Flavor
Climax is a firm fleshed, flavorful variety which produces medium-large fruit. Just a touch of spice within the sweet flavor makes it a great addition to your snack bowl, or your baked goods, holding its form while being cooked, baked, or frozen.
Attractive Bush Adds Interest to Your Landscape
There is so much to love about the Climax! You don’t just get amazing berries – you’ll have a picturesque tree to adorn your yard.
The Climax bush makes a wonderful feature, with plenty of thick foliage. It can be grown as a hedge, border, or feature specimen group. Their attractive flowers in early spring give rise to plentiful fruit. Once done fruiting, they hold their deep green color through the summer and enter dormancy transitioning green to red for a beautiful autumn display.
Best Planted in Groups
All blueberries require cross-pollination to produce fruit. Plant them in groups with varieties that are suited to your area that fruit a little later and you’ll extend your season of enjoyment even more!
We suggest (2 or 3) groups of (3) rabbit eye varieties for best results, planted close enough to each other to maximize pollinator traffic. Attractive to bumblebees your rabbit eye blueberries will flower pinks, reds, and whites in the spring to give rise to a plentiful harvest in just a few weeks!
Plant along with mid and later season varieties for an exceptionally long harvest!
